Abstract : Research was performed in a combined theoretical and experimental effort to investigate the performance of a number of classes of reflector-feed antenna systems to picosecond duration video like signals. The overall objective was to develop and employ time domain concepts and measurement techniques to establish design guidelines and procedures which will enable selection and design of high performance short pulse antenna feed and reflector configurations. Theoretical analyses were devoted to developments of reflector-feed transfer functions and performance criteria such as efficiency, gain, fidelity feed pattern, polarization, and aperture for the monopole, bicone, TEM Horn and bow tie feed types. Experimental efforts were keyed to the theoretical program and to investigate the conclusions reached from that study. (Modified author abstract)
