Abstract : During 1973 a field test concerning home basement sharing was conducted in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and vicinity. The basic purpose of the field test was fivefold: First, the field test evaluated the results of various attitudinal studies which had indicated that the public would respond quite favorably to a DCPA-sponsored program of basement sharing. Second, the field test evaluated the effectiveness of various methods of contacting the public which had been suggested in other DCPA-sponsored research. Third, various communication packages and processes were designed for field implementation and assessment. Fourth, the communication packages and field procedures were evaluated. Fifth, suggestions for implementing basement sharing programs for both peacetime and emergencies were developed.
