Abstract : The US Army unit readiness reporting system is designed to provide an indication of the capability of military units to perform their missions. A vital element of this capability is the availability and condition of the equipment of the unit. The essay examines the reporting criteria used to determine materiel readiness, a part of the overall system for evaluating the predicted performance of units.
