Abstract : Landed hake subject to factory processing, is mainly sold in the market as fresh, cold or frozen fillets. Among industrial products 'fillets' occupied first place in the year 1968, when they reached a percentage of 54.82. For the same length, the weight is greater for fish taken in deep water. For the same length, females weight is less than males. The marketable portion of the fish in terms of weight decreased gradually with an increase in length. Over the whole group studied, the fillet yield expressed as a percentage of total weight has a mean value of 48.90 with a higher percentage in the deep water sample. To calculate the total weight of the unprocessed fish, the fillet weight can be multiplied by a conversion factor of 2, the exact value being 2.04.
