Abstract : The author begins with a consideration of ways of calculating the irrigation needs for cultivation on the basis of known pedoclimatics factors. The author then goes on to present the circumstances which can sometimes impose a restriction on the water supply, above and beyond the predetermined requirements (brackish water, limitations on available water, etc.). The author then proposes to use analytical procedures to calculate the water requirements, with special adjustments for the cases above, in order to deduce alternative ways of regulating the water distribution and the sprinkling systems, as a function of the given conditions imposed. These deductions could in practice cover every aspect of the use of irrigation and of the application of water for vegetation cycles of various cultivations.
