Abstract : Spin-lattice relaxation time measurements have been undertaken on Pro--Leu--Gly--NH2 (MSH-R-IF), a peptide which was suggested to be the natural factor responsible for the inhibition of the release of melanocyte-stimulating hormone from the pituitary; the factor is released from oxytocin by enzymes present in the hypothalamus. NMR spectra of 13C in natural abundance were obtained. Spin-lattice relaxation times were measured using the inversion--recovery method.
