Abstract : The report describes a study of 3-D diagnostic techniques for measurements of flow velocity in the test section of a hypersonic wind tunnel. A successful on-site demonstration using a laser velocimeter system is discussed in detail. The close agreement between the LV and theoretical results demonstrates the feasibility of employing this technique in supersonic or hypersonic flow situations. Some technical experiences and considerations concerning the LV system as well as a few improvements for further development are also reported. (Modified author abstract)
