Abstract : The report covers the results of 18 field pull tests of polyester resin anchored rockbolts. Two sizes of rockbolts were included in the program along with point anchor, full-grouted-untensioned, and full-grouted-tensioned systems. Several of the installations were allowed to weather in outside exposure for one year prior to pull-out testing. The report concludes: (1) the installation is simple and relatively quick, requiring a minimum of men, equipment, and time; (2) the resin is sufficiently strong so that, in most cases, the integrity of the installation is dependent upon the strength of the rock or the bar relative to that of the resin and to the length of resin encapsulation; and (3) the integrity of the installation seems to be little affected by extended (in this case one-year) weathering.
