Since the stress-strain relationship for the composite before fracture was also recorded, it was possible to detect that region (strain) where significant fiber fracture began for a particular composite specimen. Emphasis was on the study of the characteristics of fiber fracture rather than on determining the ultimate strength of the composite. (Author)
