Abstract : A doubly infinite set of linear equations is derived for the currents excited on the pair of planar wire grids by a plane wave of arbitrary polarization. The equations can be solved by perturbation if the two planar arrays are sufficiently separated or by truncation and matrix inversion otherwise. The transmission coefficients are derived including the cross-polarized components, and numerical results are presented to illustrate the effects of various parameters. (Author)
