Abstract : An important feature of the eastern ocean circulation is coastal upwelling. Associated with the upwelling is an equatorward surface jet and a poleward undercurrent. The present investigation focuses attention on the effects longshore variations in bottom topography and coastline geometry have on these phenomena.
