Abstract : The purpose of this program was to develop a paint stripper that would remove only the polyurethane topcoat of an epoxy-polyamide primed/aliphatic polyurethane top coat paint system for Naval aircraft. The paint was to be removed from the aircraft at the completion of up to three years of service, including periods of extensive weathering and frequent skin temperatures in the neighborhood of 325F. Substrate metals include aluminum, steel, and titanium alloys.
