Abstract : The report discusses the solubility parameter theory as applied to radiation-induced graft polymerization. The theory relates film plasticity to the Hildebrand solubility parameter of the grafting solution. The theory is developed with mathematical equations and kinetic considerations. Mechanistic explanations concerning solution behavior and bonding are discussed. Experimental results are presented.
