Abstract : In the paper, a vision system which handles objects with curved surfaces is presented. This system takes as input a list of vertices in a two dimensional line-drawing of a three dimensional scene of bodies which possess both flat and curved surfaces. It subsequently analyzes the line-drawing and gives a description of the complete scene as a final result. In this system, the body finding is done by boundary tracings and the description is given by prototype body names with modifiers. This system is implemented in LISP 1.6 on the PDP-10 computer at the Coordinated Science Laboratory, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. (Modified author abstract)
