Abstract : The paper presents the development of a method of improving the convergence of Il'yushin's method of approximations based on representing the relation between the solutions of problems in viscoelasticity theory and Poisson ratio in terms or rational functions, and on the combined use of creep and relaxation functions obtained experimentally. The method proposed consists in solving an integral equation in viscoelasticity theory on the basis of creep tests performed with a polymer sample containing an elastic element as an inclusion.
