Abstract : The climatological data presented herein are intended to assist the Federal Aviation Administration in making Instrument Landing Systems (ILS) investment decisions. A special study prepared by the Aviation Policy Division of the FAA describes the decision model used in the benefit/cost program to support requests for ILS facilities. The tables contained in this report are designed to present the seasonal and diurnal variability of the various ceiling-visibility conditions and system enhancement factors. Each table contains an explanation of the data presented as well as the number of hourly observations examined to develop the percentages.
