Abstract : The report presents forecasts of oil traffic on 9 rivers and in 15 selected ports of the Mississippi River System. Included is crude oil, gasoline, distillate fuel oil, and residual fuel oil traffic moving on the inland waterways. A baseline forecast is developed using historical data and commodity volumes are projected for the years 1975, 1980, 1985, and 1990. These forecasts are revised on the basis of industry analysis, and converted to numbers of tow movements based on tow size projections. (Author)
