Abstract : The report discusses studies of reaction bonded silicon nitride as a candidate radome material. Using silicon powders containing up to one percent iron, reaction bonded silicon nitride was fabricated by injection molding, Fabrication methods and equipment are described as are the test techniques for thermal, mechanical and electrical evaluation. Results of dielectric tests have suggested a direct relationship between final sintered density and dielectric properties. (Modified author abstract)
