Abstract : The report describes the investigation of parametric resonances and the use of resulting resonances for measuring magnetic fields. This work includes investigation of the 2 triplet S(1) level of helium 4 by parametric resonances and establishes the feasibility of constructing a vector magnetometer using the parametric resonance n = 1. A device of this type was demonstrated to have a peak-to-peak noise level of 1.0 x 10 to the minus 7th power G in a 5.0 Hz noise bandwidth when used to monitor a component of the geomagnetic field.
