Abstract : Work is reported in the following areas of research: Construction of a complete thermoregulatory profile in Mucaca mulatta to quantitate the importance of total body sweat gland function in overall thermal balance in the rhesus monkey; quantitation and mathematical modeling of local sweating activity in Mucaca mulatta; development of the surgical techniques and instrumentation associated with a chronic hypothalamic perfusion system in the rhesus monkey resulting in what appears to be a durable and reproducible system; and modification and evaluation of the U.C., Davis, predictive model of human performance to make it compatible with the Indiana University computer.
