Abstract : Atmospheric densities at heights from 160 to 300 km have been inferred from magnetron gauge data obtained from the USAF satellite 1972-32A. Approximately 90 full orbits of data were obtained in the period from 21 April to 9 May 1972. Measurements were made at all latitudes between 81 degrees S and 81 degrees N at local times near noon and midnight. The instrumentation and data reduction procedure are described, and the uncertainties of the experiment are discussed. Computed densities are presented in plots as functions of both time and altitude. (Author)
