Abstract : The Radiation Interaction Program (RIP) was developed and documented as part of the DNA-sponsored PREDIX Program. RIP is a one-dimensional, slab geometry, material response code. This code is used to calculate the response of homogeneous materials exposed to x-ray radiation, electron beams, plate impact or an arbitrary time-dependent pressure boundary condition. The report contains a description of the input required to define a calculation, a description of the output produced by RIP, and example calculations. In particular, examples of x-ray, electron beam and plate impact calculations are included. Also included are examples of restarting calculations and alterations to the mesh on restarts.
