Abstract : A program was conducted to develop a high chromium TRIP steel that would exhibit high strength and ductility and good general and stress corrosion resistance. The steel was to be capable of being strengthened via the process of thermally cycling between martensite and reverted austenite. A total of 26 different alloys were evaluated. None of the alloys responded satisfactorily to the thermal cycling technique. (Modified author abstract)
