Abstract : Simultaneous measurements of multiple electrocardiographic leads were made to determine the spectral, spatial, and statistical characteristics of the electrocardiogram's predominant signal, noise, and interference components. A selective sampling technique, utilizing the isoelectric interval during the T-P segments, enabled the characteristics of the internally generated noise and external interference to be obtained independently of the heart signal.
