Abstract : The Logistics Composite Model (L-COM) is a large scale computer simulation model written in SIMSCRIPT I.5. The model is designed to provide assistance to the decision-maker in logistics support studies and analyses. The model is capable of simulating the various functions pertaining to the support of Naval aircraft, whether based afloat or ashore, including flight operations, maintenance, repair, supply, etc. L-COM itself consists of several smaller models, each having special functions to perform. A preprocessor model translates input data, prepared by the users, to a form accepted by the main simulation model. The main simulation model has two analytical models to assist in its operation. These deal with the problem of managing support resource levels associated with the logistics system being simulated. Lastly, a postprocessor model prepares reports and graphic displays. The documentation presents the individual models in complete detail, including descriptions, subroutine call maps, logic narratives, variable dictionaries and flowcharts. (Author)
