Abstract : World energy resources are reviewed with emphasis on the energy crisis in the US. Domestic and international constraints on the resolution of the energy crisis are analyzed. A revision of the priorities in national security and foreign policy are discussed in terms of our energy requirements between now and 1985. Coal, oil, gas, hydroelectric, nuclear, oil shale, wind, tide, and geothermal are appraised as sources of energy. The conclusion of the essay is that US domestic and foreign policy must be re-evaluated because of the increasing demand for energy. (Modified author abstract)
