Abstract : High-field magnetization studies were made from 4K to room temperature on rapidly sputtered TbFe2, DyFe2, and SmFe2. At 4.2K the magnetic moment resembles that of polycrystal samples, whereas at room temperature it is substantially lower. Huge coercive forces (20-30 kOe) were observed at 4.2K. Partial crystallization of TbFe2 from the sputtered amorphous state yields high-energy products and coercivities (>3 kOe) at room temperature. (Author)
