Abstract : A series of Monte Carlo calculations were performed to determine the energy deposition and Compton electron sources in air arising from atmospheric nuclear bursts. The time-dependent results were obtained in 92 radial and altitude scoring bins surrounding a burst 200 meters above the ground. Ranges of 0 to 333gm/cm squared were considered in all directions from the source. Both a representative gamma ray and a thermonuclear neutron source were investigated. (Author)
