Abstract : Oxidative chlorophosphorylation of hydrocarbons and their derivatives with phosphorus trichloride and oxygen yields acid chlorides that serve as starting compounds for the preparation of various organophosphorus compounds. Various paraffin and monomeric olefin hydrocarbons were used as the basis for the preparation of acid chlorides reviewed. Reaction mechanisms proposed for oxidative chlorophosphorylation are compared and examples of preparative procedures are set forth.
