Abstract : Interaction of sodium borohydride with salts of cobalt(II) or nickel(II) produces metal borides that have been found to contain hydrogen; stoichiometries Co2(B sup 1) and Ni2(B sup 2) as have been suggested are inadequate in explaining the physical and chemical properties of these substances, and the tentative formulations (Co2B)5 H3 and (Ni2B)2 H3 have been tentatively assigned.
