Abstract : The report presents results from a set of pretest calculations for the MIXED COMPANY event of the MIDDLE NORTH test series. The planned test configuration consists of a 500 ton sphere of TNT tangent to the ground surface. The site geology is characterized by a layer of clayey silt, varying from one to eight feet in thickness, over an interfingering sequence of sandstones containing clay inclusions. The objective of these calculations was to obtain pretest ground motion predictions at points corresponding to insitu gage locations extending from ground zero out to ranges of approximately 1400 feet.
