Abstract : The author study a nonself-sustained gas discharge in N2-CO2 mixtures at atmospheric pressure. An electron beam was used as the external ionizer. In the experiment stable burning of such a discharge in a steady-state regime was realized. This analysis shows promise in the use of such discharges a combined pumping of CO2 lasers.
