Abstract : The six-part report describes the underway marine geophysical data acquired by the Lamont-Doherty Geological Observatory during the period 1961-1971 in the North Atlantic aboard the research vessels VEMA and ROBERT D. CONRAD. The study of the data that were acquired played a basic role in the development of the theories of sea floor spreading, of plate tectonics, and of sediment accumulation and transport which have revolutionized geological thinking. This report presents the data obtained along about 350,000 n. miles of track.
