Abstract : This book gives information on the physicomechanical properties of structural glass-fiber laminates and the fields of their application, both in chemical engineering and in general machine construction. Laws governing the deformation of glass-fiber laminates and basic positions in the theory of strength of anisotropic materials are given. The simplest cases of the stress-strained state of structural elements made of glass-fiber laminates, methods of calculating strength and stability of anisotropic plastics and shells, and also certain problems in the vibrations and dynamic stability of anisotropic cylindrical shells are presented.
