Abstract : The report summarizes the investigation and design of an unobstructed one meter aperture diffraction limited off-axis optical system. The system is capable of duplexed transmitter and receiver operations. The transmitter optics is capable of handling power levels approaching 50 Kw at 10.6 micrometers while providing variable field coverage with a continuous zoom range of 10 to 1. The receiver is operational in the visible and 10.6 micrometers and can support both acquisition and fine resolution tracking operations for an active laser illuminating system which employs a tracking beam director.
