Abstract : What impact will recent Thai political changes have on the formulation of United States foreign policy in Southeast Asia. The special United States/Thailand relationship which evolved during the 1960's is discussed. The October 1973 uprising is examined to determine its causative factors and the reasons for the students' success. An analysis of several Thais expected to provide the country's future leadership is then made along with a discussion of current problem areas confronting the Thai leaders. Major power interests and activities which bear directly on US foreign policy in Southeast Asia are then analyzed. (Modified author abstract)
