Abstract : A thermodynamic calculation was conducted on the energy content of various fuels in high temperature electrochemical oxidation. Three series of maximum energy contents were obtained for the fuels under examination: (a) considering only the weight for the fuel, (b) considering the weight of the fuel and oxygen, (c) considering the weight of the fuel and air used to oxidize. There is a discussion of observed regularities which significantly reduce the area of search for fuels having higher energy contents. There is also a presentation of thermodynamic characteristics of more energy-producing reactions for highly active pairs of oxidizers and reducers at temperatures of 298, 600, and 900K.
