Abstract : A lamination theory is proposed to obtain the conductivity tensor of n-layered anisotropic composite material and to solve for the temperature and heat-flux distribution in the material. The theory involves a generalization of Fourier's-law of conduction followed by an averaging process. The problem of heat conduction in a cylindrical sector made of bilamina components was solved both exactly and based on the present method. The temperature distribution and the heat flux in radial and circumferential directions were obtained. The results from the present method give an excellent comparison with those from the exact solution. (Author, modified-PL)
