Abstract : A noise survey was conducted 29 January through 1 February 1973 at the Tucson International Airport to assist in programming noise abatement procedures for Tucson Air National Guard F100 aircraft. Of particular concern were the noise levels created at two locations, the proposed site of the airport noise monitoring system, 5000 feet off the end of the runway and the junior high school near the end of the runway. With F100 jet aircraft employing various takeoff procedures noise levels were measured to determine which procedure would minimize noise levels at these two sites. (Author)
