Abstract : Work covered by this grant has included the extension of nuclear acoustic resonance (NAR) to magnetic fields over three times higher than those used previously. The high temperature results in aluminum have been found to be in good agreement with a theory by P.A. Fedders. New effects have been discovered at low temperatures in aluminum. Perhaps most importantly, NAR has been extended to alloys and shown to be an important new tool for alloy work.
