Abstract : The report presents the laboratory test techniques used for evaluating the thermal protection characteristics of materials when exposed to a number of heat sources. The parameters of prime importance are athermancy and thermal shrinkage. The techniques described, combined with an off line data reduction package, provide a measure of materials thermal protection against human skin burns. (Author)
