Abstract : The project studied the evolutionary development of command and control; assessed the complexity of the current World Wide Military Command and Control System (WWMCCS) and prepared ways to improve future management of the WWMCCS. The study reviewed command and control experiences in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, and examined evolving national command philosophy. An analysis of the current WWMCCS and its future plans led to the following conclusions: A more effective organization for centralized management is required; and the development and implementation of more detailed standard procedures and operator/user training is needed.
