Abstract : A production type computer program has been developed which is capable of analyzing the supersonic flow fields associated with aximmetric nozzle-base-boattail assemblies. Using the method of characteristics, an analysis for both the nozzle and boattail flow fields was developed. The analysis is based on the governing gas dynamic equations for a rotational flow of a frozen or equilibrium gas mixture. The transonic method developed by Kliegel was used to obtain the initial-value line for the nozzle flow field analysis. If desired, axisymmetric tabular data can be input for the nozzle initial-value line. Either uniform flow or axisymmetric tabular data can be used to specify the initial-value line for the boattail flow field analysis. The nozzle and boattail contours can be specified as conical, second-order polynomial or tabular contours. (Author)
