Abstract : A 12 AWG high temperature power wire was fabricated using an Inconel 600 clad silver conductor, a combination of silica braid and poly (carborane-siloxane) impregnated mica tape as the insulation, and a protective Inconel 600 knitted outermesh. The wire assembly maintained its electrical integrity through a variety of tests including vibration and mechanical shock, bending, humidity, and low temperature. The wires exceeded the specification requirement for dielectric strength and insulation resistance at temperatures up to and including 1250F. The basic technology was developed to produce a high temperature connector to mate with the above wire assembly. (Author)
