Abstract : As a result of the refinement of chemical technology in the production of caprolactam, workers are subjected to the effect of very low concentrations of chemical substances. The need for research on the early functional and biochemical changes in the skin, which precede the appearance of pronounced clinical signs of a skin disease, is evident. In industrial contact with caprolactam and products of its synthesis, the barrier-protective function of the skin decreases. The development of dermatosis, including allergy is possible. Measures for the prophylaxis of occupational diseases of the skin in industries for the production of caprolactam include hygiene and preventive medical measures. Preliminary and periodic medical examinations by a physician-dermatologist are required.
