Abstract : This report deals primarily with the theory and construction of exact truncated sequential tests for a three-way decision procedure for testing the mean of a normal distribution with known variance. The tables that are developed include the following test properties for certain two-sided truncated sequential tests of the mean of a normal distribution with variance known: the exact operating characteristic (O.C) function, the exact distribution of the decisive sample number (D.S.N.), the exact average sample number (A.S.N.) function, the median sample number (M.S.N.) function, the probability of termination of the test (P.T.T.) at any step, and a direct comparison with the equivalent fixed size test.
