Abstract : Decomposition of DMMP under laser induced dielectric breakdown has been observed under focused, Q- switched, ruby laser irradiation. Two distinct chemical breakdown products have been observed through vapor phase chromatography. Attempts have been made to anticipate effects of resonant laser irradiation, as produced by the CO2 laser. Plans have been made for construction of a CO2 laser, with the features judged necessary for chemical studies. The cloud chamber has been shown at least analytically to be useful in obtaining highly unsaturated atmospheres of DMMP. Pulsed NMR (spin echo) experiments have been brought to a conclusion for DMMP. Upper limits have been set on transient and stable paramagnetic products, neither of which was produced in measurable quantities by ruby laser irradiation. (Author)
