Abstract : The trailing wire antennas were developed to provide a reasonably efficient antenna which would not readily identify the bearer of the radio. The trailing wire antennas consist of two coaxial connectors and seven insulated wires of different lengths covering the frequency range of the AN/PRC-25 radio. The trailing wire antennas were developed to replace the 3-foot whip antenna used when the radio was operated in motion. The telescoping antenna was developed to provide an antenna of variable length without physical interchange of antennas. Used primarily when the AN/PRC-25 radio is operated at a halt, the antenna is adjustable from approximately 3 feet to 10 feet. An adaptor is provided to match the antenna length to the radio set. The lightweight speaker is a modification of the AN/PRR-9 Squad Radio loudspeaker. A spring clip for mounting on the AN/PRC-25 handle and a connecting cable are the major modifications.
