Abstract : This type of time delay relay has many possible applications in airborne vehicles. Tests were performed to gather operational information under environmental conditions to aid in future consideration of this relay for possible use. The time delay of the relay was checked at five different ambient temperatures ranging from -55 C to +125 C. The relay was vibrated in three directions from 20 to 2000 cps at a 10 G level in the energized and deenergized states. An acceleration test was performed to check the time delay and contact malfunction from 0 to 100 G's. Each relay was shocked in six directions in the energized and deenergized state to check for contract malfunction. The loadings were up to 100 G's for 10 + or - 1 millisecond with a threshold of safe operation established for three directions. (Author)
