Abstract : Ferrite antennas have been used in long wave radio devices, but at the present time they are limited for use in short-wave radios, because of their lower effeciencies at higher frequencies. New ways of manufacturing ferrite antennas for use in short-wave receivers are presented. The short-wave magnetic antennas made from permivar ferrite perform in a manner that makes them comparable to electric antennas. These performances were possible due only to the superior qualities of these new types of ferrite antennas, for example low losses at high frequencies with a relatively high permeability. In comparison with the SW magnetic antennas of Cofelec (France), made from a material of the same permeability, the antennas in this report have a quality factor greater by 50%. The other qualities of these antennas, decreased size, orientation, low price, their large scale use in modern radio receivers should be considered. (Author)
